Biography

Lars Markert is foreign law partner in the international dispute resolution department of Nishimura & Asahi’s Tokyo office. He is admitted to the German, Japanese (GJB) and New York bars and frequently advises clients in complex international disputes. He has been involved in numerous international arbitrations as counsel, arbitrator or tribunal secretary under the arbitration rules of institutions such as the DIS, ICC, Swiss Chambers, NAI, ICDR, KCAB, JCAA, SIAC and ICSID, as well as under UNCITRAL Rules. He worked for almost ten years at a leading German law firm in Germany, a year with a leading US law firm in New York City and was for two years on secondment to Nishimura & Asahi in Tokyo.
