Biography

Douwe Groenevelt is a Partner at Datacation, a Data & AI company that helps companies create value with AI, a.o. by building agentic platforms and proprietary language models. Until 2025, he served as Head of Legal at ASML, Europe's largest technology company for 10 years. He began his career as an attorney at leading Dutch corporate firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, where he was the Resident Partner in the Brussels office. Douwe is a Fellow at the Erasmus School of Law in Rotterdam and serves on the Supervisory Board of the Dutch AI Coalition (AIC4NL). He is also known for sharing his vision on the future of the legal profession through his short AI-films: "Barney - The End of Lawyers" (2025), and "The Last of Them" (2026).
