Biography

Aileen McHarg has been a member of SEERIL's Academic Advisory Group since 2006 and was its chair between 2012 and 2016. Professor McHarg teaches and researches in UK constitutional and administrative law, as well as energy law and regulation. She has published widely on energy law, and is particularly interested in questions of energy governance and the promotion of sustainable energy. She is a member of the Scottish Government's Expert Panel on Environmental Charges and Other Measures, the Law Society of Scotland's Constitutional Law Sub-Committee, the executive committee of the UK Constitutional Law Association, and co-chair of the British-Irish Chapter of the International Society of Public Law
