Biography

Tarja Wist is the founding partner of Wist Attorneys and a highly esteemed professional in banking and finance law, capital markets and corporate law. With over 30 years of experience, Tarja has been instrumental in advising numerous international and domestic clients on complex finance, capital markets, and M&A transactions. Tarja began her legal career in 1989 as an associate lawyer at Finland's largest law firm at the time. In 1997, she co-founded a new commercial law firm, where she served as managing partner for fourteen years. Since 2020, Tarja has been practicing law at Wist Attorneys, continuing to provide top-tier legal services. Throughout her career, Tarja has held several prestigious positions, including Chair of the Specialist Group for Finance and Capital Markets Law of the Finnish Bar Association and Co-Chair of the Banking Law Committee of the International Bar Association. She has also contributed to significant legislative work, serving on the Finnish Ministry of Finance's working group for the implementation of the EU Takeover Directive and the Securities Market Law Reform in 2012.
