Biography
Ibtissem Lassoued is a distinguished legal expert specializing in financial crime, compliance, investigations and international cooperation, with a significant influence on legal and geopolitical frameworks across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). As a Partner and Head of White-Collar Crime Advisory / Compliance, Investigations & International Cooperation Practice at Al Tamimi & Company Law Firm, she advises on complex, multi-jurisdictional issues including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing, global economic sanctions, anti-corruption (including the extraterritorial effect of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act), INTERPOL, extradition, and fraud matters. Her legal acumen is recognized globally; she has been ranked Band 1 in Chambers Global for Corporate Investigations for 11 consecutive years since the category’s inclusion and is consistently listed in other leading directories such as Who’s Who Legal ‘Thought Leadership’, and Who’s Who Legal ‘Business Crime’. Before joining Al Tamimi & Company in 2007 in Dubai, she worked in the legal department of the French conglomerate Vivendi, focusing on US litigation, including securities class actions and investigations by the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). In addition to her legal practice, Ibtissem is a thought-after speaker at international conferences around the globe, sharing insights on trends in her areas of expertise, influencing policy and practice across the MENA region and beyond
