Biography
HRH Olori (Queen) Olufunmi Oluyed (whose formative years was in London, UK) is a Life Member of the Honorable Body of Benchers, Nigeria’s highest legal regulatory body. She is a pioneer/founding partner of TRLPLAW Solicitors & Advocates, an international commercial law firm she co-founded with her late husband, HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba Ajibola Olaleye Oluyede. With over 39 years of practice, she advises a global clientele with expertise in transnational commercial law. A committed advocate for women’s rights, human rights and social justice, she is also a prolific speaker, regularly addressing global forums and convening conferences at the United Nations and other international platforms. At the International Bar Association (IBA), she has, inter alia, served on the Council of the Legal Practice Division and the Nominations Committee. She is currently Advisor to the Constitution and Governance Committee, Immediate Past Co-Chair and Advisor to the Diversity and Inclusion Council, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Women Lawyers’ Committee. A member of both the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the American Bar Association International Law Section (ABA ILS), she helped facilitate the 2019 Memorandum of Cooperation between the two bodies. Her NBA roles include inaugural Secretary of the NBA Women Forum, National Treasurer, Vice Chair of the NBA Lagos Branch, and Patroness of the NBA Ikere-Ekiti, Okitipupa, and Owo Branches. Within the ABA ILS, she has served as Chair and Senior Advisor of several committees, including the UN and International Organizations, Human Rights, NGO & NPO, International Refugee Law, Women’s Interest Network, and Government and Public Interest Committees. She also chaired the Public International Law (Treaty) Division and is now ABA ILS Liaison to FIDA International. Olori Oluyede is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and former Ambassador to the ABA ILS. She is a former Secretary-General of the Geneva-based International Alliance of Women and currently serves as North America Executive Director of FIDA International. Her previous FIDA roles include Regional Vice President for North America, Chair of the FIDA International Editorial Board, National President of FIDA USA, member of the National Executive Council of FIDA Nigeria, and Chair of FIDA Nigeria (Lagos Branch). Married for 43 years to HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba Raphael Ajibola Oluyede, the late legal luminary, entrepreneur, and monarch of Ayede-Ogbese Kingdom in Ondo State, Nigeria, she is blessed with children and grandchildren and continues to champion legal excellence, international cooperation, and the advancement of women and vulnerable communities globally.
