Gabrielle Nater-Bass

Biography

Gabrielle Nater-Bass is a partner at Homburger in Zurich. Her practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and state court litigation. She is an experienced party counsel and arbitrator in ad hoc and institutional commercial arbitration proceedings across a wide range of industries. She also regularly represents clients in investment treaty arbitrations and complex cross-border litigations. Gabrielle Nater-Bass is listed on the panel of arbitrators of the ICC National Committee (Switzerland), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). She is a board member of the Swiss Arbitration Centre, the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and vice president of the LCIA Court. She served as president of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution (SCAI) from 2016 to 2020. Furthermore, Gabrielle Nater-Bass co-chairs the ICCA-ASIL Task Force on Damages in International Arbitration and is a member of the SIAC Users Council, the advisory board of ArbitralWomen (former vice president) and the steering committee of the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge. Gabrielle Nater-Bass received the Client Choice Award 2020 and 2021 in the category Arbitration & ADR (Switzerland). Most recently, Gabrielle Nater-Bass was actively involved in the development of two web applications: As co-chair of the ICCA-ASIL Task Force on Damages, she co-developed the DIA app (Damages in International Arbitration web application), which was launched in November 2021 (icca-asil-damages.com). Furthermore, as board member of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), she co-developed the ASA Arbitration Toolbox web application, designed to assist arbitration practitioners in the organization and conduct of arbitration proceedings (toolbox-int.arbitration-ch.org).
