Biography

Michael has been based in Clyde & Co's Dubai office since 1998 and is a partner in the firm's global projects and construction group. He headed the legal team for the main contractor claimant in the well publicised Meydan Racecourse arbitration, securing an award in excess of US$300million for the contractor and is currently leading the defence of a US$550million claim against a Dubai Government entity on the region's busiest airport. Michael is the author of the first book on construction law in the Gulf, 'Construction Law in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf' (Wiley-Blackwell, 2016).
