Rick Schmitz

Biography

Rick Schmitz holds a Master's degree in Law from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Netherlands and has been a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors for a number of years. He started his career as a corporate tax lawyer at both Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advised multinationals and private equity firms on corporate tax restructuring or tax due diligence projects. In the end of 2012 he learned about new legalisation in the Netherlands, and started the company Firm24 to provide a new, completely digital incorporation process of a Dutch legal entity. The success of this innovation fuelled the inception of LegalThings. Rick is CEO at LegalThings and has in this role been responsible for the implementation of large digitalisation projects at multinationals and the Government.
