Diane Bertrand

Biography

Partner, Fasken Diane Bertrand practises business law, and specializes in the acquisition and sale of private corporations and operating assets. She has supported numerous foreign investors entering the Canadian market, and has proven expertise in cooperatives, having worked with them for many years, particularly in relation to financing and governance issues. Diane Bertrand has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions in the food processing and distribution industry and in various manufacturing sectors. She has also conducted transactions with software companies and in the forestry, financial services, insurance, engineering, accommodation and healthcare services industries. Diane has participated in major capital financings of leading Quebec cooperatives by institutional investors and multi-jurisdictional mergers of cooperatives. Diane also assists either growing businesses or institutional investors when implementing debt or equity financings. Moreover, she is involved at various levels in initiatives designed to support female entrepreneurship. Within the firm, she heads the Quebec private transactions team and coordinates the firm’s national efforts in matters involving cooperatives and mutuals.
