Biography
Cecilia Mairal is one of the most experienced members of Marval's Banking & Finance Department. Cecilia has an extremely active role in advising banks regarding their private banking and investment businesses, and multinational companies and family businesses in relation to the creation of investment vehicles, cross-border bank financing, international securities transactions. and debt restructuring. In addition, he has extensive experience in delicate regulatory work and complex international banking litigation. Cecilia is the client relationship partner of several key clients of the Firm and leads the teams that advise these clients on complex multidisciplinary issues. She graduated as an attorney at the University of Buenos Aires, and completed a master's degree at the Harvard Law School. Between 1991 and 1992, she worked as a lawyer at the Linklaters offices in London and, between 1992-1994, moved to the New York offices. Cecilia has been recognized on multiple occasions by the most prestigious publications in the sector. Chambers Latin America 2017 describes her as 'an excellent lawyer'. In 2017, she was highlighted as the Best Finance Lawyer in Latin America at the Americas Women in Business Awards ceremony, organized by Euromoney. Co-president of the Securities Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) until December 31, 2016 and current officer of the Capital Markets Forum of the IBA, Cecilia frequently gives talks on the stock market and banking at the International Financial Law Conferences and Annual Conferences organized by the association.
