Description
This interactive session will deal with the global trends on diversity (such as gender, ethical origin, LGBT representation) on corporate boards and how as part of the overall corporate governance work corporates building capacity, raising awareness and expanding the discussion about diversity on boards. Amongst other topics, the impact of legislation requiring quotas of female representation in certain jurisdictions and the approach of addressing the disproportionality on corporate boards through the adoption of 'comply or explain' governance system by governments and stock exchanges will be discussed. The difficulty for large international companies to balance the geographical origin of its board members will be addressed.
