Biography
Rebecca is a partner in our corporate and commercial group, co-heads our global data protection and privacy practice and is a member of our cyber hub. She advises on all aspects of data protection and privacy, including cyber or/data breach preparation and incident response, challenges with new technotogy, implications for contractual arrangements or company's policies and procedures. Her corporate practice consists of advising clients on M&A transactions, both public and private, joint ventures, equity issues and long term commercial contracts. She also advises on day-today company law and corporate reporting and governance matters. Rebecca is Vice Chair of the City of London Law Society Data Committee and is a frequent contributor to various publications, including Privacy Laws & Business, Lexis PSL and PLC. Recent privacy highlights include advising: • numerous EU and non-EU companies on their GDPR programmes and general GDPR compliance • various companies on the impact of the GDPR on private acquisitions, public takeovers, share issuances and demergers • BUPA on a data breach involving multiple jurisdictions which culminated in a monetary penalty from the UK Information Commissioner • a UK leisure group on a cyber attack resulting in exfiltration of customer data • a professional services firm on a cyber attack • an entertainments business on a hacking attack
