Ed has been instructed in a number of high profile and significant cases in the Court of Appeal, High Court, Employment Appeal Tribunal and Employment Tribunal. Recent cases include acting for the claimant in one of the largest High Court employment claims ever brought by an individual (in excess of £40m, acting for one of the Birmingham schools that Operation Trojan Horse alleged was subject to an Islamist takeover, as well as acting for hundreds of former IBM employees bringing claims for age discrimination and constructive dismissal arising out of changes made to their pensions. As a trial lawyer, including for many years in criminal proceedings, Ed has cross-examined literally thousands of witnesses. He is an experienced negotiator and has negotiated multi-million-pound settlements, and is a trained mediator. He is a regular trainer and lecturer. He has delivered numerous lectures on employment law. He has delivered advocacy training around the world, including the Higher Rights of Audience course to Hong Kong lawyers. Ed is a co-founder and director of Assurety, a fast-growing communications training company that has an unparalleled reputation in the UK in premium witness familiarisation.
