Ines Castro

Biography

Inês Albuquerque e Castro, degree in Law in 1998 from the Lisbon University Law School. In 2001, she attended the Post-Graduation Course in Labour Law at the Lisbon University Law School, and also the Post-Graduation Course in European Criminal Law at Coimbra University Law School. In 2008, she attended the Post-Graduation Course in Public Law and Employment at the Coimbra University Law School. Inês also worked as a legal advisor at the Secretary of State of Employment and Social Security, contributing for the major legal reform in labour law. She currently coordinates the Employment, Benefits and Pensions Department. Inês has almost 20 years of experience in the employment and social security area. Since the very beginning of her career she has advised HR departments and generally clients on a wide range of employment matters. She is widely regarded for her advice on general and strategic employment and social security issues, legal support on companies' restructuring processes, including collective dismissals and individual redundancies, termination by mutual consent and lay-off, among other. She is a regular speaker at conferences, seminars and workshops about Labour Law. She is also a member of IBA and EELA
