Jerome Barre

Biography

Jérôme Barré is a partner of Franklin Law Firm and leads the wealth tax, and legal and corporate tax practice. He focuses on the interests of private clients and family businesses, both domestic and crossborder. He covers a wide scope of activities including income and wealth tax returns, persons and Asset transfers, management package, family, family businesses and assets restructuring, estate planning, family law, and familial governance. Part of his practice is dedicated to tax and estate litigation, inheritance, gift tax planning and trust matters. He is teaching tax and law in corporate international tax planning at the University of Paris IX-Dauphine, on wealth tax and law at the University of Paris V-Malakoff, and on artworks tax and law at the University of Paris II-Assas (all three in Master II), and in Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) about tax litigation and procedure. He is member of the HEC Entrepreneurs jury. He successively worked at AXA Group, Crédit Agricole and Crédit Mutuel Bank as manager of the tax department. Jérôme also served as general counsel and tax and legal managing director of Rothschild & Cie Banque. He then moved to create the private practice working at Price Waterhouse and developed practices at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young before he joined Franklin in 2006. Jérôme is a member of several organisations, including the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law, the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the American Chamber of Commerce, France Invest and IACF. In 2018 he was appointed member of the board of directors at the French Association of Family Offices.
