John Wilson
Biography
John Wilson practices in the fields of intellectual property law, foreign investment law, immigration law, corporate law, litigation/arbitration, taxation, employment law/industrial relations, corporate restructuring and liquidation of companies, and testamentary matters. He holds a double degree from King’s College, University of London and the Université de Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne graduating in 1995 with an LLB (Hons) Degree as well as a Maîtrise en droit privé mention droit Français et Anglais. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1996 and was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public, Colombo in 2000. Currently, he is the Managing Principal of the law practice John Wilson Partners, Attorneys-at-Law & Notaries Public and has been acting as the In House Legal Adviser / Counsel for the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ECCSL) since 2010. He is also a director and Vice President of ECCSL. He acts as legal counsel for a number of embassies in Sri Lanka (including the embassies of France, Austria, and Switzerland). He is a member (MCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Sri Lanka) branch and currently functions as its Hon. Secretary and is a director of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Sri Lanka) branch.
