Biography

John has been the Managing Partner of Tokyo office since 2012 and heads our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team in Tokyo. John is a project development and financing specialist with over 20 years’ experience advising project sponsors, ECAs/IFIs, commercial banks, trading and utility companies on project development, financing and M&A transactions in the energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors. John is ranked as a 'Leading Individual' in major legal directories (Chambers and Legal 500 2019), and is described as 'very experienced but also very approachable and very good in assisting the negotiation position and formulating strategy', who leads a team referred to as ''one of the most committed and knowledgeable groups in the market'.
