Biography

Eric M. Fish serves as the Senior Vice President of Legal Services at the Federation of State Medical Boards. In this role, he serves as general counsel and legal advisor to the FSMB leadership. He also assists in the FSMB's federal and state advocacy efforts, drafting and analyzing legislation and serves as consultant on the development of model policies for state medical board including the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact and telemedicine standards. His recent work includes study and consultation on issues related to antitrust, regulatory reform, artificial intelligence, and digitization of credentials. Mr. Fish joined the FSMB in 2013. Prior to joining the FSMB, Mr. Fish served Legal Counsel and Senior Legislative Counsel at the Uniform Law Commission, where he engaged with political, legal, and business leaders throughout the country to draft legislation designed to reduce inefficiencies burdening interstate transactions and improve the mobility of people and business across state lines. He regularly appeared before state legislative committees to testify on legislative proposals and issues of federal and state relations. Mr. Fish holds a A.B. with Honors in Political Science with from the University of Chicago, and a J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law where he also served as Editor in Chief of the Loyola University of Chicago International Law Review.
