As for many other sectors, artificial intelligence is increasingly impacting the healthcare and life sciences industries and could be a ‘game-changing’ technology. While it brings key advantages throughout the patient pathway, it has also been the subject of a lot many debates over the past few years. Indeed, the challenges associated with effective implementation of this technology are numerous and range from the lack of a clear understanding of what the technology actually consists of, to the challenges of deploying the technology consistent with the letter and spirit of the law, public policy and ethics.
