Biography

Natalie's experience covers a range of cross-border merger filings (focusing on Asia, including China), antitrust investigations and sectoral regulation, and spans across Hong Kong, EU and UK competition law. Natalie has been responsible for coordinating the Chinese and Asian merger notifications on a number of global transactions. Recent highlights include: Booking Holdings on its acquisition of HotelsCombined, Royal Dutch Shell on its acquisition of BG Group, Google on its US$1.1 billion acquisition of certain assets of HTC Corporation, Tencent on its acquisition of a majority stake in Supercell Oy, FMC on its acquisition of certain crop protection businesses from DuPont, Swire Beverages on the expansion of its Coca-Cola bottling franchise territories in Mainland China, Thermo Fisher Scientific on its takeovers of FEI Company and Life Technologies, Starwood on its acquisition by Marriott, and INEOS on its PVC joint venture with Solvay. In addition, Natalie has recently advised multinational companies in relation to Chinese government investigations. She has also advised extensively on the new Hong Kong competition legislation and represented the liner shipping industry in successfully obtaining the first block exemption order under the new regime, as well as the banking industry in an exemption application. Natalie currently acts as a non-governmental adviser to the Hong Kong Competition Commission in the ICN. Natalie speaks Chinese and English and splits her time between the firm's Hong Kong and Beijing offices.
