Richard Goldstein
Biography
Richard S. Goldstein was born in New York, but now resides in London with his family who are all dual nationals of the U.S. as well as the U.K. Richard is the Senior Partner of the Law Firm in New York which he established in 1979 and now manages and is the Senior Partner of its affiliated office in London. Both the New York and London offices deal exclusively with U.S. immigration and nationality law with a particular emphasis on business immigration law as well as consular visa matters. The client base of both offices is primarily corporate in nature as well as high net worth individuals. Richard is currently very much involved with consular issues and U.S. citizenship matters with an emphasis on renunciation of citizenship. Richard is admitted to the Bar of The State of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Richard has organized and chaired numerous international immigration seminars over the last thirty years for various Bar Associations, business organisations and private groups and he has also been invited to lecture at numerous seminars in Europe and Asia as well as in North America. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for more than thirty years and served as the President of its New York Chapter at a time when there were over five hundred lawyers in the Chapter. Richard has additionally served as a member of the Board of Governors of AILA and was also the Chairman of its Visa Office Liaison Committee. Richard has been travelling to Japan several times each year since 1980 and throughout that time has lectured there at many international forums and seminars. He was invited to Japan in 1980 and again in 1981 as a guest of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to lecture at two international seminars dealing with Comparative Immigration Law. Since that time he has lectured in Japan on several occasions each year for many groups. He has lectured for Keidanren (The Federation of Economic Organizations, Japan) for many years as well as The Japan Overseas Investment Association (formerly The Export- Import Bank of Japan). Additionally he has lectured several times for the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. In March 2013, Richard lectured on Renunciation of American Citizenship before a group of U.S. lawyers at a seminar in Warsaw. He then lectured on the same subject in April in Tokyo at a luncheon seminar sponsored by the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. In May, he lectured on this subject at a luncheon seminar hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and then a week later as a guest speaker before The Paris Bar Association in France.
