Description
This panel will discuss the Shamima Begum case, which has drawn much publicity in the United Kingdom. In a different context, as clients lead increasingly multi-national lives, their acquisition and loss of citizenship often become key tools for them to optimise their economic and personal welfare. This session will examine the reasons, means and mechanisms for acquisition of citizenship and the issues causing voluntary and involuntary loss of citizenship.
