Biography

Liam Schwartz is Partner and Head of Corporate Immigration Practice at Goldfarb Seligman Law offices in Tel Aviv, Israel. Liam a recognized leader in corporate immigration law. His law practice focuses on assisting companies relocate executives, managers and specialized knowledge employees to the United States and to Israel. His career contributions include the following: • Selection by his peers as one of the top 15 Most Highly Regarded Individuals in Corporate Immigration Law, every year since 2012. • Co-authored the Council on Foreign Relations’ Policy Memorandum on modernizing the United States visa system. • Served in national and EMEA positions for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), including Chair, Department of State Liaison Committee, Chair, AILA EMEA Chapter, and co-Chair, AILA Global Migration Section. Liam currently manages AILA’s member forums on nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. • Awarded the AILA Sam Williamson Mentor Award, the AILA Edward Gudeon Memorial Service Award, and the AILA President's Commendation for Outstanding Leadership. • Outside Counsel to the Israel Population and Immigration Authority on U.S. immigration law issues. • Featured in a large variety of media in Israel and abroad, most recently by Yedioth Aharonot on the new United States investor visa for Israelis. • Lectured at professional conferences throughout the United States, Israel and Europe. • Authored dozens of articles for professional publications, as well as several books and guides. Liam will be authoring an analysis of the State Department’s Foreign Affairs Manual for AILA’s 2020 Consular Processing Handbook. • Creator and administrator of “Consular Corner,” an online community dedicated to raising the level of discourse between American consular officers and immigration attorneys. Liam holds a J.D. degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School and a B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University. He is admitted to practice in Israel, New York and New Jersey.
