About the Asia Pacific SEERIL Group

The Asia Pacific SEERIL Group (APSG) is a joint practice group of the IBA Section on Energy, Environment, Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL) and the Asia Pacific Regional Forum (APRF). This initiative is inspired by the IBA’s policy of encouraging geographic diversity and strengthening ongoing cooperation and exchange between its specialist committees and regional fora. The primary objective of the APSG is to provide a forum for discussion of issues of interest to practitioners based in the Asia Pacific region, as well as to those with a broader professional interest in the region. A further objective is to expand the reach of the IBA within the region and to encourage greater participation in the events and activities of both the APRF and SEERIL.

The objectives of APSG are as follows:

• supporting SEERIL’s and APRF’s events in IBA annual conferences;
• supporting SEERIL and APRF’s events in Asia Pacific;
• organising APSG events in Asia Pacific;
• promoting SEERIL among Asia Pacific lawyers;
• reaching out to non-members, including in-house counsel and academia in Asia Pacific to take part in APSG events and join as member of IBA to enrich the IBA membership as a whole;
• acting as a central hub for information and ensuring that IBA members based in Asia Pacific have the opportunity to become more involved, by planning and participating in events as attendees or speakers of SEERIL and APSG.
