This conference is cashless

The IBA will only be able to accept credit/debit cards for transactions during the conference and at conference venues. There will be no cash facilities available. We can take secure payments on site using any of the cards listed below.

It is the cardholder's responsibility to ensure the card's security details are ready, and to check that there is a sufficient balance on the card for the payment to complete.

Early booking fee deadline

All bookings must be received by Friday 18 July to attend the conference at the discounted rate.

Bank transfer bookings

If payment is not received (with proof of bank transfer payment) the early booking fee discounted rate will not be honoured
If payment is made without a completed booking form, payment will be returned to the sender within 14 days of receipt and the early booking fee discounted rate may not be honoured

Bank transfer booking deadline

All bank transfer bookings must be received (with proof of bank transfer) by close of business on Friday 17 October in order to be processed.

Bookings received on or close to Friday 17 October may take several days to process due to the high volume received at this time. Therefore, you may experience a short delay in your booking being processed and, in some cases, this will be after Friday 17 October. Note: after this date, conference bookings will only be possible online with immediate payment via bank card, and the higher on-site booking fee will apply. We cannot accept hard copy registrations or payment via bank transfer or cash after this date or on-site at the conference.

Bank transfer bookings

Conference booking fees sent by bank transfer to the IBA bank accounts, without a completed booking form, will be returned to the sender within 14 days of receipt and the early booking fee discounted rate might not be honoured.

Booking amendments

The last day that an individual can add a guest online is Friday 17 October. After this date, guest bookings can only be made on-site at the conference.

Please note we cannot guarantee fulfillment of dietary requests for delegates or guests for social function purchases made after Friday 17 October.

Early cancellation deadline

Notice of cancellation must be received in writing at the IBA office by Friday 18 July. A 15 per cent administration charge will be deducted for conference cancellations, including any social functions and guest fees. After this date, the late cancellation deadline of 25 per cent administration charge will be applicable until Friday 17 October.

Late cancellation deadline

Notice of cancellation must be received in writing at the IBA office by Friday 17 October. A 25 per cent administration charge will be deducted for conference cancellations, including any social functions and guest fees. After this date, no refunds can be made.

Note: Cancellation terms and conditions apply upon submission of booking.

Please note that NO exception will be made to this policy. Should you have difficulties in obtaining your visa and are not able to attend the conference, the cancellation policy will still apply.

Booking transfers are not possible.

Refunds will only be made via the payment method they were originally sent, if a payment is refunded via bank transfer it will also be subject to any applicable bank charges. Refunds will be made minus any monies owed to the IBA.

Final social event cancellation deadline

Social event cancellations received in writing after Friday 17 October until the end of business on Friday 31 October will be subject to a 50 per cent cancellation charge.

Social event cancellations received after close of business on Friday 31 October will be non-refundable and non-transferable.

Social event transfers are not possible.

Delegate search

Online delegate search – will be available to all booked delegates from Friday 19 September. Full downloadable delegate lists are not available. To search for delegates using the online search facility, one out of the three search criteria options must be entered.

Registered delegates will also have access to the IBA conference app, available on smartphones and tablets, to search through an up-to-date directory of delegates, view their contact information, discover the location and times of speakers’ sessions and send personal messages to other conference delegates.

Guest booking

Price: £235

The IBA’s definition of a guest is a spouse, life partner, family member or friend. A guest must NOT be a member of the legal profession (including but not limited to: Business Development or Marketing personnel, Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants) or use the conference as a business networking opportunity.

Checks are made to ensure this is adhered to. If the IBA believes the guest is attending in a professional or business capacity, the IBA reserves the right to refuse or cancel the registration of the guest and request they register as a full delegate for the conference.

Guests are not permitted to attend, under any circumstance, working sessions or general delegate lunches, except for the Opening ceremony, Welcome party and the Rule of Law Symposium.

Guests are not entitled to attend social events without the registered delegate present or purchase places at social events. All social event purchases must be made by the registered delegate.

Access for guests to the conference venue is limited to the accommodation desk located outside Exhibit Halls F&G, Level 800, Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Only booked guests (i.e., those who have paid the guest fee) are eligible to participate in the social programme (excluding the ticketed lunches that take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre).

Only one guest per delegate is permitted. Guests can only be added to a registration up until the 17 October. After this date it will only be possible to add a guest, in person at the conference help desk in the Networking Hub in Toronto from Saturday 1 November. Please note we cannot guarantee fulfilment of dietary requests for delegates or guests for social function purchases made after Friday 17 October.
