The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) held their Human Dimensions Implementation Meetings (HDIM) in Warsaw, Poland in September 2017. The annual meetings invite from the OSCE participating States ‘hundreds of government officials, international experts, civil society representatives and human rights activists to take stock of how states are implementing their commitments in … the core values that promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.’1

Jurate Guzeviciute – Programme Lawyer for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) – participated on a panel at the side-event titled ‘LGBTI Persons Outside the Law in Chechnya (Russia): What Should Be the International Community’s Reaction?’. Discussed were the international tools and mechanisms available to address the issue.
