Criminal Justice in Tajikistan: the IBAHRI Holds Trainings for Local Lawyers

Saturday 30 September 2017

The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) has been keen to address the lack of support and guarantees given to lawyers in Tajikistan. In November 2017, we arranged trainings in Khujand and Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The trainings covered issues relating to criminal justice, particularly the protection of the rights of participants in criminal proceedings. The lawyers were all highly engaged and their exceptional critical analysis led participants and trainers alike to leave with a strong sense of optimism for the future of criminal justice in the country.
