On the occasion of the Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) in Copenhagen, Denmark, the IBA Human Rights Law Committee will host a screening of Eternal Sentinel, a documentary directed by Maryam Ashrafi about the use of landmines and improvised explosive devices and their impact on children, journalists, and other civilians.

The documentary examines lethal incidents caused by landmines and improvised explosive devices. Despite the defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq, such incidents have risen tenfold, claiming the lives of countless civilians, including children. The official trailer is available at: https://primed.tv/eternal-sentinel/?lang=en.

The screening will open with a drinks and canapés reception. Following the film, a panel discussion and Q&A will feature leading practitioners in international human rights law and humanitarian assistance and protection.
