Silvester Chiware

Biography

Silvester Tinotenda Chiware is a Senior Legal Researcher with the Judicial Service Commission at the High Court of Zimbabwe. He specializes in legal research and drafting legal opinions for Superior Courts on various aspects of the law including criminal law, property law, commercial law and human rights law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Honors Degree from Herbert Chitepo School of Law at Great Zimbabwe University where he graduated in November 2024. Silvester is a member of the International Bar Association in the Human Rights Law Committee as well as the African Regional Forum Silvester has been part of teams that have been successful on various moot court competitions during his university days. He was part of the team that won the prestigious 22nd All Africa International Humanitarian Law Moot Court in Arusha, Tanzania before the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. He has also won various national moot court competitions including Transparency International Zimbabwe Moot Court Competition on Business and Human Rights. Outside the professional landscape, Silvester is passionate about mentoring young lawyers. He also has a deep passion for football and supports Arsenal Football Club.
