Laurence M Lieberman
Biography
Laurence Lieberman is a senior partner in Taylor Wessing LLP's London-based Disputes and Investigations team. He has specialised in complex commercial litigation and arbitration for nearly 25 years, with a particular focus on the life sciences, financial services and technology sectors. His practice is broadly equally spread between court litigation and international arbitration; with the latter he has conducted cases before the LCIA, ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, CIETAC, as well as ad hoc. He also conduct internal investigations and regulatory and compliance investigations for clients in cases of fraud, corruption and other white collar issues. Laurence advises pharmaceutical, biotech and other life sciences clients on their commercial disputes concerning royalties, licencing, market entry, collaboration and R&D ventures. He recently acted for the commercial arm of one of the UK's leading medical research entities in a substantial arbitration concerning royalty payments on the development of a blockbuster medicine. He advises banks, financial institutions, and senior financial services executives, on a vast range of financial disputes and regulatory investigations. He recently acted for Professor Russel Griggs, the Independent Reviewer to the compensation scheme set up by Lloyds Bank in relation to one of the UK's biggest ever SME lending frauds. In the technology arena, he advises a wide range of digital platforms, from start-ups to Amazon, and has developed a recent focus on crypto-businesses. Laurence is the Head of Taylor Wessing's India Group, the Lead Partner for Israel Disputes, the Lead Partner for the firm's litigation technology offering and the Co-Head of the firm's Wellbeing network.
