Biography

Partner of the Intellectual Property and Information Technology area Head of Trademark Practice Group and Head of the Retail Group Education Master of Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (1991) She studied for the public entrance examination for the Judiciary (1991-1995) Expertise Sofía Martínez-Almeida advises on a wide range of intellectual property matters with particular emphasis in trademark, designs, unfair competition litigious work before Civil, Commercial and Community Courts, specially representing leading brand owners. During the last years she has handled a significant part of contentious cases involving cutting-edge issues on her area of expertise for clients in many sectors (internet, technology & electronics, distribution, textile, luxury and consumer goods, beverages, food). She has a wide experience in Advertising law, representing significant clients both advising in relation with labeling and advertising campaigns as well as in complaints before the Spanish Self Regulatory body (AUTOCONTROL)
