Description
Parts and extracts of the cannabis plant can be used for a multitude of purposes including medical or recreational, as a food additive or in cosmetics. Traditionally strict regulations and prohibitions have recently been relaxed in some countries, while others have so far remained reluctant to do so. Currently, the WHO’s bodies are carrying out a first full review of cannabis and cannabis-related substances since the International Drug Control Conventions were established in 1961 and 1971. The panel discusses the possible consequences of a rescheduling of cannabis at the global level, and how international finance and trade should navigate a diverse regulatory landscape regarding cannabis.
