1 Nov - 2 Nov 2019
Session information
The (in)applicability of liquidated damages for delay and the relevant factors that drive their reduction in many jurisdictions
Friday 1 November (1650 - 1750)
Description
Liquidated damages provisions should give parties certainty as to the compensation payable when the completion of a project is delayed. Panellists and delegates will discuss common scenarios, including whether liquidated damages apply if a contract is terminated and when an extension of time is denied owing to non-compliance with a time bar provision. The different answers obtained under different applicable laws will be explored.
