Session information

BREAKOUT PART ONE - Topic one - Making change happen

Friday 22 November (1145 - 1300)

Committee(s)

Law Firm Management Committee (Lead)

Description

There is much talk about change but how do we get lawyers to actually change what they are doing day-to-day? This session will examine how lawyers currently work and some of the inefficiencies that prevail. For example, lawyers tend to do all their own typing and administration and do not use simple proven technologies such as all the aspects of Microsoft Outlook, voice recognition tools and other support that many law firms have heavily invested in. How can we make our lawyers more efficient by getting them to change the way they do things? Without rehearsing all the technology that is available, we will ask: how do we get our lawyers to use it and how do we discuss (and charge for) that use with clients?
