Walking the walk: changing corrupt corporate culture to combat corruption
Tuesday 25 June (1400 - 1515)
Committee(s)
Anti-Corruption Committee
(Lead)
Description
This session will explore the dynamics of changing corporate culture and the role of the board and corporate leadership in implementing effective anti-bribery compliance programmes. In situations where the message of corporate ethics seems to ring hollow (for example, following press coverage of corruption scandals or public announcement of law enforcement actions), how can companies both talk the talk, and walk the walk? Do shareholders really care about something other than their dividend? What are institutional investors doing? Why are regulators in some countries more interesting in settling with companies than taking them to court for egregious behaviour?
