Description
2020 is almost here and the long-awaited sulphur emissions cap is about to become a reality. However, substantial questions remain as to whether fuel suppliers and vessel owners are ready for the calendar to turn: will there be sufficient quantities of 0.5 per cent fuel to adequately supply the industry? Will it be affordable? Are there any workable/economically feasible alternatives? How will port states enforce the emissions limit and what penalties are likely to be imposed for non-compliance? How will the responsibilities and liabilities for non-compliance be allocated between owners and charterers? This session will explore these questions and more.
