This area may be very new and at some points scary for lawyers not trained and used to work with individuals, not being used to addressing Rule of Law issue and not being close to human right issues in their daily work.
The panel in this session will discuss the Rule of Law related journey of commercial law firms working in the business and corporate environment, you may find out that you deal with human rights issues even if you have never thought about it that way, we will have an interesting insight to the approach of the United Nations and we will set the picture for the near future with an aim to help commercial law firms moving forward on this journey.

Challenges include large scale hydrogen production cost, infrastructure investments, bulk storage, transport & distribution, safety considerations, and matching supply-demand uncertainties. This session will discuss legal aspects relevant to these emerging economies such as: (a) Policy-making and regulation; (b) Government funding / aids to help offset the initial high costs; (c) Project’s bankability; (d) Contracts for the implementation of hydrogen production or storage projects (e.g. power-to-gas plants) or infrastructure projects (e.g. the development of a hydrogen infrastructure); and (e) Using green hydrogen as battery, to increase capacity factors on renewable energy and address intermittency.

This session will present an update on the initial project of the ABA/IBA Joint Task Force on cross-border closing opinions. The ABA and IBA formed the Joint Task force to build upon work done under the auspices of the ABA, the IBA and others as well as a number of bar groups in several countries to improve the practices of lawyers in countries throughout the world relating to the giving of, and advising recipients of, closing opinions in cross-border transactions The initial project has focused on developing principles-based guidance on good practices for both opinion givers and opinion recipients for closing opinions in cross-border transactions.

A changing climate is having direct impacts on variability of water supply for drinking, agricultural, mining and other activities. Like other natural resources, as supplies change or become more scarce, there is a need to unlock new supplies that may have previously been considered too expensive or difficult to access. This panel will explore different and innovative methods around the world allowing access to additional sources of water, including reuse, desalinisation, changes in ownership regimes, underground basin infiltration, transporting ice water and other methods of developing supplies.

This session will look at the practical aspects of 'crisis management' within law firms, addressing risks that come with clients’ portfolios tied to particular regions, cyber security breaches, or partner team moves, and how a 'crisis' relating to any one of these might affect a law firm's reputation.
Could robust crisis management lead to opportunities through identifying, managing and mitigating strategic risks in order to make decisions that help law firms innovate, grow and succeed?
